Fire Department Film Hochsträß

A cinematic project featuring the fire departments of Ulm–Eggingen, Einsingen, and Ermingen.

The Project

Together with my fellow firefighters, I produced an image film for our fire departments Eggingen, Einsingen, and Ermingen. The film showcases the work and strong sense of unity among our departments – collectively known as the Hochsträß Alarm Cooperation. Our goal was to present volunteer firefighting in a modern, engaging, and authentic way – full of passion and community spirit.

The shoot took place in a single day during our joint annual exercise in 2024. More than a month in advance, we planned camera angles, perspectives, and how to capture everything within that one event. Almost none of the scenes were staged – about 90% of the footage was filmed live during the drill, without any direction. We wanted to keep it as real and unfiltered as possible. Above all, we aimed to convey the camaraderie and emotion – less of a promotional piece, more of an honest portrait of people who are there for others.

Behind the Scenes

Here’s a look behind the scenes of the shoot. For us, this project was more than just a film – it was something from the heart. Working together with our comrades, even across different departments, was incredibly rewarding and truly showed what teamwork means.
